WDS/CCRR JOB OPENING - Application Deadline 2/21/2010Position: Resource and Referral Specialist
Position Description:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Resource and Referral Specialist assists parents in obtaining child care to meet the needs of their family and provides technical assistance to providers. Employee performs duties in a standard office environment with minimum super vision.
Employee has frequent contact with individuals by phone and in person, as well as maintains frequent contacts with child care providers, counselors, families, and the public in a number of capacities. Frequently works on several tasks at the same time. Work may require light to moderate lifting and the ability to work a flexible schedule. Travel for this position is required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree preferred in any of the following: Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Consumer and Family Services, Social Work, or Counseling, including a minimum of 12 credit hours in early childhood related coursework or achievement of a Child Development Associate Credential.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years experience working in an early childhood setting, a CCR&R, or an agency providing family support services is required.
Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, customer service or counseling skills, creative problem solving abilities, database management abilities, knowledge and experience working with web-based data bases, and Microsoft Office.
