PROJECT BRAINTREE KIT DESCRIPTIONS (*KIT TITLES AVAILABLE ARE CURRENTLY LIMITED)
1. An Apple a Day This kit uses apples as a foundation to teach various concepts. Activities include make-believe kitchen and restaurant play, apple toss games, and books to read or hear.
2. Design It! Build It! This kit encourages children to follow instructions, but also to use their imaginations to design and build with various materials. Activities include building with blocks or tiles, creating an in-class construction site, and reading activities.
3. How Many? This kit introduces children to basic math concepts. Activities include counting items, singing along, and classroom math center supplies for practicing counting skills.
4. The Human Body This kit introduces children to the human body. Activities include dress-ups, songs, and learning healthy habits.
5. Life in a Tree This kit encourages children to imagine arboreal homes and life. Activities include direct outdoor observation, binocular use, and discussion of trees' importance to human life.
6. Measuring Up! This kit teaches beginning measurement skills. Activities include using various tools, practicing measuring skills, and comparing heights.
7. Mystery of Magnets This kit introduces children to magnetic power. Activities include magnet exploration and a magnetic scavenger hunt.
8. Patterns Everywhere This kit encourages children to explore the concept of patterns. Activities include taking a "pattern" walk, recognizing patterns in the environment, puzzles, and bead craft.
9. See, Hear, Touch, Taste, Smell This kit deals primarily with the senses of sight and hearing. Activities include walking around a building to gather sensory impressions, setting up a science center for experiments and exploration, and other visual and auditory play.
10. See, Hear, Touch, Taste, Smell #2 This kit deals primarily with the senses of touch, smell, and taste. Activities include reading, guessing games, and exploration.
11. Short, Tall, Big, or Small? This kit introduces an understanding of relative size through looking at animals. Activities include puppets, floor puzzles, track (footprint) examination, and reading.
12. Sink or Float? This kit encourages children to explore the concept of buoyancy. Activities include bubble-blowing and water play.
13. Sort it Out! This kit introduces basic classification concepts. Activities include color sorting as well as object sorting.
14. Sound This kit encourages learning through listening. Activities include walks through the neighborhood and musical experimentation with instruments.
15. Sounds on a Farm This kit introduces a variety of rural and animal sounds. Activities include puppet play, listening, and singing.
16. The Vegetable Garden This kit introduces the importance of fruits and vegetables. Activities include reading and planting an indoor garden.
