Resource Library Policy

Rationale
This policy is established in order to develop a clear and reasonable process for the use of the Child Care Resource Library.

Policy
The resources in the Child Care Resource Library will be available for cardholders to check out for a period of two weeks. Members of the communities in the Workforce Development Services service delivery area* will be eligible to become cardholders by signing a copy of this document, signifying that they understand and agree to the following conditions:

Materials will not be removed from the library without completing the check out process with a Workforce Development Inc./Child Care Resource and Referral Staff member.
Materials will be returned within two weeks of the check out date unless arrangements have been made to renew the item or items.
Materials will be returned in good condition.
Materials that have been damaged beyond future use or that have been lost by the cardholder will be replaced at the cardholder's expense.

*The service delivery area includes the following counties:
Lake, Porter and LaPorte

Procedure:
Members of the community who wish to access materials in the Child Care Resource Library will apply for a patron card by completing the "Cardholder Information Form" and by signing a copy of this policy.

Cardholders will bring selected materials for check out to a Workforce Development Services Inc./Child Care Resource and Referral staff member, who will log the transaction. A receipt with the return date will be given to the cardholder. When returning items to the library, the transaction must be completed with a Workforce Development Services Inc./Child Care Resource and Referral staff member to ensure proper check in procedures are followed.
